Execute Superior Moisture Control With Heatless Desiccant Air Dryers
Water condensation is a natural byproduct of air compression. To remove the moisture and prevent it from causing impaired performance and shortened service life, industrial facilities and manufacturing plants need a heatless desiccant dryer. This machine only uses compressed air as a purge, making it ideal for industries that handle hazardous and explosive materials.

How Are Heatless Desiccant Air Dryers Different From Other Models?
Heatless desiccant air dryers set itself apart by eliminating the use of heat. This uses two chambers: one is for drying (adsorption), while the other is for regeneration (desorption).
During the drying process, the air will enter one of the chambers wherein the water vapor will adhere to the desiccant material, effectively removing moisture. The dried air will then exit through an outlet on a downstream flow. Since the desiccants in the chamber are already saturated, they will begin regeneration while the other chamber does the drying.
The regeneration process is what truly sets heatless desiccant dryers apart. Instead of heat, it uses a percentage of the dried air drawn from the outlet of the drying chamber to carry away the moisture absorbed by the desiccants in the tank. The moisture-laden purge air will then be expelled through an exhaust outlet. The two chambers will alternate drying and regeneration during the whole process.
What Should You Consider When Buying Heatless
Desiccant Air Dryers?
Heatless desiccant dryers come with different technologies and capacities; here are a few specifications that you
need to consider before choosing a model.
Pressure Dew Point
The air dryness level for air compressor machines can differ depending on the specific application, compressor size, and operating condition. You must determine the ideal dryness level for your compressor to properly find the right heatless desiccant dryer that could achieve your machine’s required pressure dew point.
Operating Pressure
Different heatless desiccant air dryer models have different specific pressure limits that you must align with the operating pressure of your compressed air system. Exceeding the pressure limits of the desiccant dryer can lead to multiple malfunctions and damage; therefore, it is crucial to check the pounds per square inch gauge (psig) of the unit before procurement.
Purge Air Consumption
Heatless desiccant air dryers use a portion of dried compressed air (typically
between 15% and 18%) when regenerating the desiccants. This affects the energy consumption and operational cost of the compressed air system. To reduce the associated costs, you need to consider finding a model that offers a low purge air rate.
