A Trusted Supplier of Reciprocating Air Compressors

Reciprocating air compressors make use of pistons driven by a crankshaft to deliver
gases at a high pressure. With the ability to produce up to 5,000 pounds per square
inch gauge, these machines are perfect for smaller sites but are not recommended
for continuous use.

How Reciprocating Compressors Work

With a basic working principle similar to that of a crankshaft piston, reciprocating air compressors use a piece of metal that moves back and forth to compress gas. Air flows into the cylinder after going through a suction valve and an air filter. After it is compressed using a crankshaft and a piston, it exits through a discharge valve and is stored in a storage tank until it is needed. In addition, reciprocating air compressors can either be powered by an electric motor or a gas or diesel engine. These machines have two major types: the first is based on how the piston works, while the second depends on the number of cylinders. The former can either be single or double acting, and the latter can be single or double stage.

What Are the Applications of Reciprocating Compressors?

Reciprocating air compressors have various applications, including:
9111

Component Ejection From Molds

Known as one of the most essential pieces of machinery in the manufacturing industry, reciprocating air compressors can be found in many factories. They are used for different purposes, such as blowing air into the mold to eject the component without damaging the final product.

Molding Plastic Bottles

Reciprocating air compressors are used to blow air into molds to create the shape of plastic bottles. This is done by connecting the machine to an air nozzle and setting the amount of air needed to be released for every interval. Selecting the correct amount is crucial since too much or too little would make the end product look deformed.

Powering Welding or Cutting Equipment

The use of reciprocating air compressors is vital to any welding or cutting equipment. The compressed air supplied by these machines is needed to provide the power that drives the welding arc or cutting torch, and it may even be used as a source of cooling gas for these processes.
