Apply Pressure To Move Fluids Using the Pumps We Offer

Fluid handling pumps are vital because they help transport fluids for necessary processes in various industries. They can be found in many fields, such as manufacturing, food and beverage, chemical, oil and gas, and mining.

Currently, there are two types of fluid handling pumps that are used by most companies, namely: positive displacement and gear pumps. The former uses the pressure difference between its high-pressure and low-pressure sides to move fluids, while the latter utilizes a gear-wheel assembly with a helical tooth profile to drive the fluid through a pipe.

How Fluid Handling Pumps Work

The use of fluid handling pumps has increased over time due to their ability to do multiple tasks at once with less effort than other methods available before them. These devices work by using a rotating impeller that is submerged into the fluid to be moved and a stationary vane attached to the output of the pump. The fluid being pumped then flows through an enclosed channel or pipe.

The rotating impeller creates a partial vacuum inside the fluid container as it rotates, forcing liquid into the channel or pipe. On the other hand, when it reaches its stationary vane, it creates an opposite pressure on top of the fluid inside its enclosure which causes the liquid to flow out into another container.

What Are the Applications of Fluid Handling Pumps?

Fluid handling pump applications vary depending on the type of model that is being used. In general, they can be used for the following:/p>

Water Circulation

Used to circulate water in different ways, fluid handling pumps can be found in both residential and industrial environments. They are also known as mixing valves or suction valves. These valves have been around for decades but have recently been gaining popularity due to advancements made by manufacturers and engineers.

Sump Drainage

Professionals often use a fluid handling pump to remove water from the bottom of the sump tank. They connect the device to a suction pipe at the top of the container and a discharge pipe at the bottom. Afterward, the pump sucks up water from below, then discharges it through an outlet on top.

Fire Protection Setups

Fluid handling pumps are used as vital components of fire protection systems. Sometimes referred to as a pump and boom, they provide a way to transport water quickly from one area to another. As a result, these devices help ensure that no one is injured during fires.
